Nerd Block- Horror Block July 2016

*Update: I just found out that this is actually a welcome box and not the actual July Horror block that was sent out.*
So, I went to Nerd block to get the Nerd block Jr box ($13.99 plus shipping) and when I went to check out I was given the option to add another Full size box for an additional $9.99. I thought “oh, well why not.” This box is usually $19.99 plus shipping.

Horror block is a monthly subscription box that sends “terrifying surprises every month from beloved cult classics, movies, and television shows.” Every box should contain 4-6 collectibles, 1 exclusive t-shirt, and have a value of $60. We shall see if it hits it value. (I will be looking at the $19.99 price for the value, not the price I paid.)

So when you first open the box you they were clever and put “Don`t open, dead inside.” (Pictured above along with the picture of the first look of the box.)

First up, was the Walking Dead figurine mystery package. I found this on Amazon for $2.99 with free shipping. (Sorry about the picture being sideways.) If you are interested in seeing which fig we received please watch our Un-boxing video, I will have the link to our YouTube channel at the bottom of this page. (Be sure to subscribe to our channel!)

Zombie hunter dog tag set. I found this on Amazon for $8.49 with free ship.

Sharknado 7″ Bobblehead. Sharknado vs. The Hoff. This was going for $11.03 plus $5.04 shipping on Amazon.

Horror block exclusive cleaver key ring key chain. I found this on both Ebay and Amazon. Amazon had it for $5.94 plus $3.99 shipping, Ebay had it for $7.99 with free shipping.

Addy Miller Walking dead autographed print and Godzilla print. I could not find any information on the Godzilla print, however for the autographed print (comes with certificate of authenticity) I was finding it starting at $9.99 (before shipping) and up.

They Live t-shirt, couldn`t find a price for this, however my husband is saying about $15. If you are unaware of what They Live is, as I was, click here to see the trailer.

The rest of the box had a card containing information on Nerd Block and Grab Block, which is how I received this box for a special price.

“There is a Nerd Block for everyone!” Nerd block offers various types of boxes. There is the Original Nerd Block, Arcade Block, Scifi Block, Horror Block, Comic Block, and Nerd block JR. in both a boy and girl version. (I am currently still waiting for the Girl version, so be sure to look for that blog coming soon!)

All blocks are $19.99 plus shipping, except for the Jr boxes. They are $13.99 plus shipping.

Shipment dates vary depending on which block you order. Classic,Jr, and Sci-Fi boxes begin shipping on the 15th of each month. All orders are shipped within 5 business days of that date.

Arcade,Horror, and Comic boxes begin shipping on the 25th of each month. All orders are shipped within 5 business days of that date.

You can also pause, cancel, and resume your subscription at any time.

My box also had a puzzle piece, not sure what that is for, maybe the Jr box will say something about it`s purpose. There is also a code for a $10 credit to shirt punch. I have the code covered as I am not sure if it is a one time use code or not. This code will be posted in our un-boxing video so please be sure to check it out for a chance to get the code.

Coupon Code: EARLYBIRD20 saved me 20% (off of the Jr block, not the Horror block. However, I did get the Horror block as a grab block so it was cheaper than usual.)

Subscription box: Horror Block

Cost: $9.99 plus $9.95 shipping, usually $19.99 plus shipping.

Products: 1 shirt, 2 prints, and 4 items

Shipping: Ships to Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States. I am unsure of the shipping cost other than that of the US.

I ordered this box on the 4th of July. On the 8th, I received an email stating that my box would be shipping out that week. My package was sent out on the 12th and was delivered on the 15th. It was sent via UPS and then transferred to my local post office.

Worth it / Did it hit the value? Horror block claims to have a $60 value. The box sells for $19.99. (plus shipping, again I only paid $9.99 but I am going on the $19.99 price point)

Lets do a break down:

Figurine mystery pack …   $2.99

Dog tags …                              $8.49

Bobblehead …                        $11.03

key chain …                             $5.94

Godzilla print…                      $5.00 (again not sure on this price)

Addy Miller print …              $9.99 (this is probably worth even more than this)

They live t-shirt…                 $15.00

_____________________________________________________________

Grand total :                         $58.44

So this box did not hit the $60 value Horror block claimed to have, however, as far as the amount I paid that`s a value of $38.45. Value wise, this box is worth it. My husband and I did not really care for the items that were in here though. He said the only thing that saved this box was the shirt.

What are your thoughts on Horror block?
